In 1986 James Tufenkian began his business with a mission; to revive the tradition of Tibetan rug weaving while bridging the divide between entrepreneurialism and corporate social responsibility. Today, Tufenkian maintains the long-standing tradition of making each carpet by hand using the finest materials and techniques while upholding their belief in “leaving the places they touch better than they found them.” Every Tufenkian carpet is unique unto itself, created over the course of a journey through a sea of human hands that weave it into existence
